The Darkness 2 is the first-person shooter/slasher comic book come to life that debuted at GDC. It has been nearly four years since the last time gamers were able to control “The Darkness” as hitman Jackie Estacado. Since then the game has shifted developers from Swedish-based Starbreeze Studios to the Canadian dev team at Digital Extremes. If gamers were worried that Digital Extremes would be unable to deliver a standout sequel in the comic-adaptation franchise, all signs currently point to those fears being completely unfounded.

Battlefield 3 is a first-person shooter videogame being developed by EA Digital Illusions CE and to be published by Electronic Arts. In the more than fife years since Battlefield 2 has been released, the first person-shooter lanscape has come to be dominated by one franchise alone – Call of Duty: Black Ops “>Activision`s Call of Duty behemoth. EA and DICE are hopping to steal the “Thunder” away from Call of Duty with their brand new Battlefield 3 release.

Mortal Kombat 9

Mortal Kombat (2011 video game) is the working title for an upcoming new fighting game in the Mortal Kombat series, currently in development by the newly named NetherRealm Studios. It is the ninth installment in the series and the first to be published exclusively under the Warner Bros. label. Mortal Kombat is set for an April 19, 2011 release in the US, and a EU release on April 21st, on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 systems. A PC version is also a possibility. The game has been Refused Classification in some country due to “violence that exceeds strong in impact”,Warner Brothers are currently reviewing all options available including possibly appealing the rating.
